John Arena
When John left New York for warmer weather, he brought his favorite pizza with him to Las Vegas. John co-founded Metro Pizza in 1980, which now boasts five successful locations. He’s an esteemed member of the World Pizza Champions and lead instructor at Pizza University in Washington, D.C.
Melinda Carbajal
Melinda is the CEO and managing member of Simply Pizza Truck serving up wood-fired pizza in Centennial, CO. Beginning in 2015, she pioneered an innovative mobile pizzeria model using a hybrid shipping container model that can operate on wheels and or dropped off on location. Prior to life as a pizzaiola, she worked in the world of nonprofits, a skill set that she continues to utilize by writing grants to support food insecurity relief in Colorado.
Mike Nelson
As commercial director at Liberty Coca-Cola, Mike works with a brand that has been associated with pizza for over a century. At Slice Out Hunger, Mike engages his brand-building skills to spread our mission of hunger prevention and relief to the masses.
Scott Wiener
Scott transformed his passion for pizza into a lifestyle when he launched Scott’s Pizza Tours in 2008. This tour company served as a launchpad for multiple pizza-related endeavors, including writing for Pizza Today Magazine, judging pizza competitions around the world, consulting, amassing the world’s largest collection of pizza boxes, and founding Slice Out Hunger.
